So today’s edition is dedicated to Noida since the last time I had slagged off Gurgaon its Noida’s turn… A city that was once on the up but has stalled like DTC bus in the middle of Ashram flyover…There was a chain called Prego in London that i really enjoyed eating and and it was also the one Italian place that was closes to my house… so a combo of decent Italian food with laziness made it a winner… With this expectation i decided to check out this place called Prego over lunch with a college friend of mine… And Voila a train wreck is being merciful… Point the worst meal i have had in Noida!!! I hate restaurants that call themselves Italian and serve a load of unadulterated bollocks instead…
From the outside the place looks modern and the staff was well trained which is a good thing because every thing after this is a wreck…
We ordered a quick appetizer of some form of chicken i don’t even recall the name it was that generic it could be called anything such as S**t on a stick for instance… so your first bread basket is complimentary but if you ask the for another one the staff will just ignore you as if you were some one who asked them for their kidney… then when asked again after some consultation and deliberation and comes and lays down that law that the second basket is chargeable.
Well i know its probably beyond your comprehension that people usually pay for what they ask for, as being a waiter i know intelligence must not have been the your smartest suite in school…
Since i was starving I went for their 2 course meal and hoping for better… I ordered the Ceaser salad and good ol Spaghetti Bolognese…
The Ceasar Salad hardly had any dressing on it you could have just plucked some leaves from a tree and dropped the 2 token of piece chicken like many outlets do and charge you an extra 100 buck for “chicken” salad. Their dressing was more like mustard than what the taste of ceaser salad dressing is supposed to be…
The second course that I ordered was that of a spaghetti bolognese and i must confess its one of the worst Spag-Bol i have ever had in my life i had to struggle to taste any thing beside the overwhelming spices… last I remember Bolognese is not Italian for keema curry !!! and of course it was super watery and hardly had any meat in it… Bolognese is a sauce not a broth !!!
Desert no thanks all i wanted to was get out and leave…
To be slightly fair to them they did plate the food well is a surprise in India even the better restaurants serve food that is so heartlessly presented your ex had more warmth in her heart. Guys its italian food for christs sake there is soo much heart in Italian cooking… Please serve it with some heart…
